Company profile[edit]

Heathkit was a United States corporation. Originally named the Heath Aeroplane Company, the company was founded by Edward Bayard Heath in Chicago, Illinois in 1926. By the 1980s, Heathkit was the leading supplier of high-quality electronic kits, from radios to shortwave amateur radios. However, many of the devices were also available ready to operate.
