Certainly the Dragon is an excellent and probably a legendary cassette deck. I could not afford it at the time, unfortunately. :) But superlatives do not belong here, if not provable. So maybe texts like "the most impressive tape deck ever built" should be changed to "a very impressive tape deck". _____________________________________________

I agree with the wording of this discussion. On the other hand, the air is quite thin in the Dragon class. I'm not a tape forum member, but the azimuth adjustment - besides the Marantz mentioned in the article - and the Nakamichi CR-7 is probably otherwise only available on the Tandberg TCD 3014, here before the recording.
The calibration function was still new at the time of the presentation, Alpine-Luxman speaks of a calibration c o m p u t e r for the K-04 and also Revox for the 215, which seems a bit exaggerated nowadays. The effect can be seen very nicely in the Revox collector .pdf:
