Distribution: "2 x 200 watts into 8 ohms, 2 x 400 watts into 4 ohms and more than 700 watts into 2 ohms - these are the impressive data of this amplifier. A pure power plant paired with many finesses of high-end technology. Crystall chips for processing the small signals, all tone control functions run electronically - monitored by a CPU. This means no mechanical interference and no wear and tear. By the way, the SV-238 also delivers 2 x 60 watts in Class-A operation at 8 ohms. Switching to AB mode is done automatically by the amplifier.
The SV 238 operates in the Class A range up to a power of approx. 60W sinus. The full power is 200W at a load of 8 ohms, but the device also drives 4 ohm loads, here the maximum power is 400W. However, the unit is also stable at 2 ohms and is capable of delivering over 700W of power in this load range. This is achieved with a good sized power supply and a 1500VA transformer. Furthermore, 16 Sanken transistors per channel are working on the amplification. In the power supply area the capacitances were increased and 120.000uF were used. The circuitry of the unit was designed as fully balanced, all functions in the signal path are controlled by a CPU (volume, balance etc.), so there is no mechanical wear and no mechanical noise. The display clearly shows the functions and communicates them to the operator."
