Remarks

  • The TC-K 611 S is similar in construction to the Sony TC-K 707 ES (sold in USA, better sound heads) and Sony TC-K 711 S (has closed loop dual capstan tape drive). The TC-K 611 S shares the service manual with them.
  • In the Sony TC-K 611 S was compared to the previous model of the 6 - series, the TC-K 690 (1992-93 sold) without the dual-capstan drive . This was continued by the TC-K 711 S (newly created 7 series).

The successor model Sony TC-K 615 S has some comfort functions less. For example, the adjustable headphone output has disappeared.
