Notes

The "PXS" capacitors in the signal path have now reached the end of their life cycle, which is noticeable by bass loss, channel imbalance and undifferentiated sound. Since these capacitors are also installed in the power supply, in the medium term there may also be failures due to short circuits or hum disturbances due to loss of filter efficiency. However, the original very good sound quality can be restored by a professional revision.

  • Permanent magnet on the Capstan can come loose, especially after transport. Leads to fast grinding noises! All Quartz-DD drives AR350
  • Trembling in the sound: Lubricant of the winding plate axles flocculates! Re-lubricate with graphite grease
  • Sound leaks: Spring of pressure roller gives way. Item no. 120-1/ ET. No. RUW140ZC -> no longer available
  • Due to age, the plastic elements in the running gear become increasingly brittle and break, the pinions of the rewind motor burst open and slip off => irreparable
