Remarks


  • Previous model: GX-6
  • Successor model: Akai GX-65 MK II
  • Criticized by the testers (stereo) with the GX-65 as well as with many other devices an abrasion of normal tapes by the erase head. This has been eliminated in the successor model.

With infinitely variable BIAS control, rear band control for direct monitoring during recording, double capstan drive.

  • The wear-free sound heads are standard at Akai.
