Reports
- Audio 6/2009: Top class, 85 points, price/performance outstanding
- SFT 6/2009: Very good, grade 1.4
- Stereo 8/2009: Sound level 31%, price/performance excellent, 4 stars. The Denon PMA-510 AE amplifier designed for this purpose was tested in parallel. "The Denon player also prefers the relaxed and thus "very long-listening" pace. Up to the upper mids it presents any material in a very natural, sonorous and detailed way, but without being a paragon of fine detail, brilliance and three-dimensionality. ... Nevertheless, Denon's new 510 series offers components for just under 500 Euros - for the complete set, mind you! - components that promise many years of listening pleasure at a reasonable price and are beyond reproach in terms of build quality and features. Typical Denon!" (ibid. p.43-44)
Comments
- Other models of the same series:
- The device is in many respects very similar to its predecessor, the DCD-500 AE (even the technical specifications are largely the same, as are the dimensions). The most notable difference is the playback of MP3/ WMA files (tracks), but the track calendar bar is omitted. In contrast to its successor DCD-520 AE, the device has an adjustable headphone output.
- Predecessor model: Denon DCD-500 AE
- Successor model: Denon DCD-520 AE
- The remote control is matched in color to the models: Silver and Black. It is quite clear and easy to use
