− | + | * The Yamaha C-4 is the preamp to the power amp M-4, it's build quality is very good, everything is metal and sits right where it should. The button lights usually don't fail, meaning you don't have to replace them often, in most cases I think these units still have the orginal lights. The phono preamp is excellent and the sound control options are definitely enough. Very practical are the two pre-outs for two power amplifiers. The preamp is very heavy, which again speaks for its good workmanship. The C-4 gets quite warm when it is in operation, which according to oral tradition is due to a Class-A circuit. Conclusion: The Yamaha C-4 is highly recommended and is an excellent match for the M-4 and M-2 power amplifiers. | |
