Company profile[edit]
Orbid-Sound is a small speaker manufacturer with a great tradition in the Swabian area, founded in 1968 and almost 50(!!) years of hi-fi speaker experience. The price-performance ratio of the products is unbeatable because the manufacturer puts all his passion and resources into the quality of the boxes. A visit to the recording studios is worthwhile in any case. You are welcome to bring along your own speakers and put them through a comparison test.
The speakers can absolutely compete in the high-end range and the efficiency is virtually unbeatable.
During the consultation and in the brochures is sensibly explained what it has to do with good speakers / chassis / amplifier / cable, etc..
E.g. the specification "1000 watts" simply means (if it were a car): "This car needs 100 litres of petrol".
But it doesn't answer questions like:
- how far will it take the car?
- how fast does the car go?
- how much room does the car have?
So the questions should be, for example:
- how much dB does the speaker produce?
- what is the frequency response of the speaker?
- which type of construction does the speaker have?
