Special Features
- Manual Bias Setting
- Memory stop, repeat function<->AB
- real time counter, switchable to normal tape counter
- built-in IR receiver (sensor)
- quartz controlled direct drive (only a few devices of the 90s had this)
Occurring errors:
- no sound, no recording:C619, C620, C621, C622 & C624 -> replace 1000uF-10V
- Permanent magnet on capstan can come loose, especially after transport. Leads to fast grinding noises! All DD Drive AR350
- Gear of rewind motor can break/ crack! Pos. No. 130/ ET. No. RDG0034 -> no longer available
- Trembling in the sound: Lubricant of the winding plate axles flocculates! Re-lubricate with graphite grease
- Clay leaks: Spring of pressure roller gives way. Item no. 120-1/ ET. No. RUW140ZC -> no longer available
For your consideration Due to age, the plastic elements in the drive become increasingly brittle and break => irreparable.
Remarks[edit]
- The drive is without belt. A permanent magnet is attached to the capstan flywheel, which is driven by an electromagnetic field.
- The RS-BX626 was released in October 1992, replacing the RS-BX606. It was replaced by the BX 646, which no longer had a direct drive.
