Reviews[edit]

  • As the mid-range model of the 1991/92 ES line (Japan still had the X111ES), the X333ES shares all of the design features with the larger models without having their high-end attributes - such as a copper-plated chassis.
  • Overall, the X333ES is a solidly built, high-quality CD player that still bears no comparison with high-end mass-produced products. Unlike the more prestigious 5 Series and 7 Series players, the X333ES is offered quite inexpensively used and is often the better choice over current new units in the same price range.

The X333ES also plays CD-Rs flawlessly, but they should have been burned at minimum speed. Optimal are - for whatever reason - Sony CD-Rs.
