Wasn't Onkyo located in Germering at that time? I don't know in how many places the company has been active in Germany, so I personally refrained from a change. But should this be the case, please change. Thanks ;)
To my knowledge and also according to reports from trade journals, the development work was done in Germaningen, but the manufacturing in Japan.
Onkyo was based in Germering, which is west of Munich.
A place with the name Germaningen does not exist!

Germaringen == and not Germaningen, will be changed.
Germaringen was not the headquarters of Onkyo either.
Onkyo used to have its headquarters at the following address: Industriestraße 20 82110 Germering Phone 089/84932-0
Now they are located in Gröbenzell, which is not even 15 KM away from the old location.
The company headquarters was and is however still in Japan(Osaka), and the letter is probably with the Bavarian places difficult, is changed. :-)
