Kommt klanglich nicht ganz an das [[Yamaha KX-670|670]] er ran. Aufnahmen mit dem 670er klingen auf dem 690er besser (gleiches Laufwerk). Bedienung sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig, Steller und Taster durch Klappe sehr versteckt - weniger ist eben manchesmal mehr. Echtzeit stimmt nicht mehr so toll! HW

Operation needs a lot of getting used to, knobs and buttons are hidden by a flap - sometimes less is more. Real time is no longer so great! Poor shielding at the bottom, hum interference given! HW

A Lundemann mechanism, an underlay plate so that the air gap straightens out, I claim that Yamaha bought the mechanism from Alps at that time for no more than 20 DM!

After 20 - 25 years the belts have to be changed of course - NEW!!!HW

Doesn't quite match the sound of the 670. Recordings with the 670 sound better on the 690 (same drive). Operation needs a lot of getting used to, knobs and buttons are hidden by a flap - sometimes less is more. Real time is no longer so great! Poor shielding at the bottom, hum interference given!
