Remarks[edit]
The Number 3 is not to be confused with the Number 3 models.
The internal layout of the speaker is interesting. The frequency separation of the two bass/midrange speakers is not done via the crossover, but acoustically by the size of the resonance chamber. Small volume for the midrange of the upper speaker, considerably larger volume for the lower speaker as bass driver. This interior partitioning is done via a transversely mounted plate, so that this also effectively prevents interference.

Reviews[edit]
The ALR number 3 has been a test winner in its class several times. The sound is quite neutral and well resolved. Low frequencies are less dominant than one might be used to from current speakers. The size of the listening room should not be too small (>20sqm), cable cross section from 3qmm, use short cables (2-3m). The number 3 is a speaker that you can listen to for hours without it getting annoying, even at higher volumes.
