Remarks[edit]
The contemporary recommendation of powerful amplifiers is now obsolete. Modern designs offer enough power and sufficiently low output impedance. With tube equipment, which was still common among enthusiasts in the 70s, this speaker actually does not play. But this is mainly due to the unfavourable characteristics of the tubes, which then sound boomy and shrill at the same time.
From the transistor 25Watt@8Ohm are enough power for 100dB - in an anechoic chamber mono. This is sufficient for music without cinema effects with a large reserve.
