War nicht gerade das Glanzlicht des Verstärkerbaus von Naim hinsichtlich der Vollverstärker. Erschien im breiten olive Gehäuse, war etwas schwach auf der Brust und wer einen Nait2 bereits besass musste sich über einen Neukauf keine ernsten Gedanken machen. Erst der Nachfolger (3R) brachte wieder den Naim Sound mit den typischen Qualitäten mit, der 3er konnte aber im Endstufenabteil auf den 3R aufgerüstet und angepasst werden.
