Ran an A-550 myself for years in the early eighties. It is a tonally inconspicuous middle class amplifier with usable phono input and solid construction. At that time I used it with a pair of Onkyo SC-60MK2 I used it. The main input signal was a Pioneer PL-516 with Shure M95HE. This combination satisfied me for years, even at higher volumes. even at higher volumes. At that time the P/L ratio was quite favourable. Today it is used but too high imho. More than 100€ in technically perfect condition would be I would not spend for it. Who does not "believe" in amplifier sound, will hardly spend more than this or a similar model from another company.
