  • "The Onko TX-NR906 continues to represent an excellent choice. It sounds very dynamic and well-founded in all operating modes. In terms of dynamics, it is ahead of the Yamaha, but has to give way to the 3900 in terms of spatiality, harmony and elaboration of the harmonic range. In a direct comparison, the predecessor TX-NR905 sounded more homogeneous and harmonious than the 906, while the newer model goes more in the analytical acoustic direction, which can also be an advantage depending on the buyer's priorities. The video section is the best in the entire test field, both in terms of features and performance. Thanks to ISF calibration, possible separately for each input, and de-interlacing operating modes, top values are achieved here. The clean internal construction and the high-quality remote control also speak for the Onkyo. The disadvantages of the Onkyo are the narrow DSP section and the Audyssey MultEQ XT calibration system, which is still good, but not as good as the Pioneer and Yamaha systems. Visually, the Onkyo looks too much like its smaller 'siblings' - a little more independence would be beneficial."

== Left == Mispurchase, my Onkyo TX-NR 906 has after 26 months, problems with the HDMI sources, it takes about 10 minutes until I have a picture.

           Cost estimate of contract workshop 734,80€, or scrapping.
           Have others had to make the same experience?

I have the same problem. I have opened a ticket with Onkyo and they advise me to an update, which may be carried out only by a service workshop. Price 35,- EUR
