Japanese manufacturer of hi-fi, car hi-fi, home entertainment products, and computers and computer peripherals. Developed with Panasonic (under the Technics brand name formerly used for hi-fi components) and Teac the hi-fi Elcaset cassette, the Minidisc and with Philips CD and SACD.
Known for introducing Walkman - a portable stereo cassette player in 1979.
