Company Profile
Founded in 1938, Japanese manufacturer of hi-fi, car hi-fi, home entertainment, DJ products and computer drives.
In 2002, Pioneer introduced first DVD recorders with hard disk, followed by the introduction of the first Bluray recorder in 2007. At the end of 2007, Pioneer entered into a strategic partnership with Sharp.
In 2009 Pioneer withdrew from the TV market and Panasonic took over parts of the development.
Since September 2014, Pioneer has concentrated on the stereo and car GPS business and only holds a minority stake in the DJ sector.
