LYNX - Luchs in German - was founded in 1989 by three HiFi enthusiasts in Hanover.

Already at the end of the seventies the later owners of the company had been infected by the bacillus of original music reproduction.

In the following years more or less successful own constructions were created, until finally at the end of the 1980s enough know how was available to dare the jump into the cold water of independence.

The first two models - sensibly christened B 1 and B 2 - achieved cult status, mainly due to their still modern appearance.
 +
The first positive tests followed. The product range was gradually expanded.
 +
The A - series with the models A 0.2, A 0.5, A 1 and A 2 became a great success.
 +
B 1 and B 2 were further developed, the top model B 4 marked the upper end of the model range.

The triumph of multi-channel systems was taken into account with 2 centres and also 2 subwoofers.

From the very beginning, LYNX focused exclusively on active concepts. Finally, in 2001, the completely new aluminium series ECLAIR followed.

Schon Ende der siebziger Jahre waren die späteren Firmeninhaber vom Bazillus originalgetreuer Musikwiedergabe befallen worden.

This sentence by the German journalist Wolfram Weidner stands for the widespread prejudice that music from "the can" can never sound as good as the live performance.

We at LYNX have always set ourselves the goal of proving the opposite. But how do you achieve this goal?
 +
By uncompromisingly paying attention to the lowest possible losses in signal transmission. Only if the information stored on the record, CD or hard disk reaches the loudspeaker without any loss, there is a chance to achieve a really true-to-life reproduction. Fatally, however, this also has the consequence that many recordings are exposed as relatively poor.
 +
Data compression, which still appears lossless over an IPhone, leaves only limited joy at the end of the chain over a high-resolution system with LYNX speakers.
 +
But just as car drivers who drive over bad roads do not blame their car for the lack of comfort, music listeners should not blame the bearer of bad news for the lack of enjoyment. Because one thing is clear: only the consistent elimination of all sound-deteriorating components makes the enormously good quality of many recordings audible and tangible.

The equipment should reproduce a sound event as faithfully as possible - no more and no less.

LYNX loudspeakers consistently follow this path. This starts with the choice of the individual drivers. Thus, the ferrofluid, which degrades the sound, is not to be found in any of our tweeters.

The used midrange and bass-midrange drivers always have a very good ventilation and often a so-called phase plug.

This is followed by a high quality internal wiring that connects to a free-wired crossover.

After all, what's the point of all those expensive loudspeaker cables if they end up on wafer-thin conductors with bell wire inside the cabinet?

Our crossovers are always equipped with high-quality components.

You will not find wire resistors in any LYNX speaker. Not even in the entry-level model.

Only foil capacitors are used in the signal path of the drivers. If you think that this should be standard for all manufacturers, you are very much mistaken.

The free wiring brings a big advantage especially with the used coils.

On circuit boards high quality air core coils can only be accommodated up to very low values.

Dieser Satz des deutschen Journalisten Wolfram Weidner steht für das weit verbreitete Vorurteil, dass Musik aus "der Konserve" nie so gut wie die Liveaufführung klingen könne.
 
Wir von LYNX haben uns immer zum Ziel gesetzt, das Gegenteil zu beweisen.
 
Wie aber erreicht man dieses Ziel?
 
Indem man kompromisslos auf geringste Verluste bei der Signalübertragung achtet. Denn nur, wenn die auf Platte, CD oder Festplatte gespeicherten Informationen verlustfrei beim Lautsprecher ankommen, besteht die Chance eine wirklich naturgetreue Wiedergabe zu erreichen.
 
 
 
Fatalerweise hat dies aber auch zur Folge, dass viele Aufnahmen als relativ schlecht entlarvt werden.
 
 
 
Datenkomprimierung, die über ein IPhone noch verlustfrei erscheint, lässt über eine hochauflösende Anlage mit LYNX Lautsprechern am Ende der Kette nur noch begrenzt Freude aufkommen.
 
 
 
Aber ebenso wenig wie Autofahrer beim überfahren schlechter Straßen ihrem Auto die Schuld am fehlenden Komfort geben - genauso wenig sollten Musikhörer dem Überbringer schlechter Nachrichten die Schuld am fehlenden Genuß ankreiden.
 
Denn eines ist klar: Erst die konsequente Eliminierung aller klangverschlechternden Komponenten, macht die enorm gute Qualität vieler Aufnahmen hör- und erlebbar.                             
 
 
 
Und nicht Voodoo.
 
 
 
 
 
 
Technik
 
 
 
 
Das Ziel - originalgetreue Wiedergabe - ist bereits beschrieben worden. Hier soll nun etwas ̹ber den Weg dorthin - die Technik nämlich  gesagt werden.
 
 
 
HiFi-Jünger ergehen sich ja häufig in blumigen Formulierungen, wenn sie den Klang ihrer Anlage beschreiben wollen.
 
 
 
Das ist zwar nett zu lesen, verkennt aber die Tatsache, dass es nicht Sinn einer Hifi - Komponente ist, selbst einen Klang zu kreieren.
 
 
 
Die Gerätschaften sollen so originalgetreu wie möglich ein Klangereignis reproduzieren - nicht mehr und nicht weniger.
 
 
 
Lautsprecher von LYNX gehen konsequent diesen Weg.
 
 
 
Das beginnt bei der Wahl der einzelnen Chassis. So ist das klangverschlechternde Ferrofluid in keinem unserer Hochtöner zu finden.
 
 
 
Die verwendeten Mittel- und Tiefmitteltöner verfügen stets über eine sehr gute Belüftung und häufig über einen sogenannten Phaseplug.
 
 
 
Es folgt eine hochwertige Innenverkabelung, die an eine freiverdrahtete Frequnzweiche anschließt.
 
 
 
Denn was nützen die ganzen teuren Lautsprecherkabel, wenn diese auf hauchdünnen Leiterbahnen mi Klingeldraht im Inneren der Box münden?
 
 
 
Unsere Frequenzweichen sind grundsätzlich mit hochwertigen Bauteilen bestückt.
 
 
 
Sie werden im keiner LYNX Box Drahtwiderstände finden. Selbst beim Einstiegsmodell nicht.
 
 
 
Im Signalweg der Chassis liegen ausschließlich Folienkondensatoren. Wer meint, dass dies eigentlich Standard bei allen Herstellern sein sollte, der irrt gewaltig.
 
 
 
Die Freiverdrahtung bringt vor allem bei den verwendeten Spulen einen großen Vorteil mit sich.
 
 
 
Auf Platinen lassen sich hochwertige Luftspulen nur bis zu sehr geringen Werten unterbringen.
 
 
 
Bei unseren Frequenzweichen ist das kein Problem.
 
 
 
Einen Nachteil hat die Freiverdrahtung allerdings auch:
