Each digital port can process signals with 32, 44 or 48kHz sampling frequency, detection is done automatically (via Yamaha IC YM3623B). Special feature: Phono MM and additionally Phono MC sockets, switchable on the front panel so that two turntables can be operated. The remote control of the A-9009 can only be used for volume and audio muting. At the rear of the unit there are 2 cinch sockets with the RC5 bus available where e.g. a CT-905, which does not have an infrared eye, can be remote controlled.

The A-9009 was manufactured in Portugal and can be identified as "Grundig" by the PCBs and connectors when removing the cover (in contrast to the A-9000). The speaker terminals are made of metal and gold plated. They have a 4mm hole where bananas can be plugged in directly which can be very practical.
