For Wiki newbies: Easy insertion of a new device

Here you have the possibility to insert or add a device, if the device already exists. Please note the upper/lower case when entering! Use the preview function. And don't worry, nothing can break.

Device name:

Using a short example, here is how to make a new entry in the device database. Let's assume that we want to insert a new CD player'....

1. Open the CD Player page.
2. Select the appropriate manufacturer, if it is already entered there, otherwise create a new link (via the "edit" button in the top bar):

   * [[Sony CD player]]

Note: In this case, it should be checked later on the manufacturer's page (i.e. Sony), whether the corresponding link to the CD players must also be entered there with the products:

* [[Sony CD player]]

1. Select the manufacturer link and insert a reference to the (not yet created) device in the list:

   * [[Sony CDP-123]]

2. Save the page and click on the new link (which should be red). This will open the page for creating a new item.
3. For now, enter only the following:

   {{subst:CD player}}

4. Save the page. This will automatically insert the template for CD players (the names of the templates for other devices can be found on the Templates page). Using the template ensures that the articles for the different devices look consistent.
5. Edit the article again, enter the data and then save it. It is advisable to make use of the Preview function to check whether the page is displayed correctly.
