The beginnings of STUDER date back to 1948 when Willi Studer founded his company with practically no equity capital and only three employees. At that time, the rooms of the first workshop were located in the basement of a post office building in Zurich.
The equipment was spartan: a lathe, a workbench and a grinding machine were the tools that the then 36-year-old Willi used for his first products.
