Reports[edit]
- The small amplifier uses a STK4141II hybrid as power amplifier.
- On my unit, one channel kept dropping out.
- Because of this, the previous owner had probably already put a dent in the lid
- After cleaning and re-soldering the circuit board the amplifier was intact again
- It is advisable to check the old hifi equipment briefly before shouting at it, shaking it and banging on it
- With this amplifier that would be the two 3300µF/63V screen electrolytic capacitors including the voltages, the contacts of the STK hybrid and its thermal paste.
- The old conductive paste is after the long time hardly more than a crust
- This can be easily removed with alcohol and then applied again thinly
- One should apply it really thinly, since this must bridge only the unevenness between component and heat sink
- Overall a good sounding, compact small amplifier that can still do its job at room volume
