Reports[edit]
- The Dual CS 1246 (Component Schallplattenspieler), is actually a record changer similar to the Dual CS 601, but with an external strobe and an exchange unit, or exchange axis. This change axis could be replaced by a travelling axis, which turned this unit into a high quality single player.
- That this was a high-quality record changer is clear, because one could raise the whole at the arm of the record player by a lever, so that the 3rd record becomes the center of the record stack and the inclination angle of the arm was corrected by it again somewhat.
- Furthermore, most Dual turntables also had the angle calculation of the pickup on the arm calculated so that it was aligned exactly 2x parallel to the record groove, thus minimizing the misalignment angle.
The almost identical brother was the professional single player Dual CS 601 and the bigger brother the Dual CS 701, the first Dual turntable with direct drive and digital DLL (Direct Locked Loop) circuit and the successor model Dual CS 721.
