Der Receiver Loewe TA 4000, Typ SX 6772 war zwar "der Kleine" in der Loewe Hifi-Bausteinserie, bot aber die vielen Anwendungsmöglichkeiten und den Bedienungskomfort der "Großen". Zwei Lautsprecherpaare konnten angeschlossen werden, ebenso zwei Tonbändgeräte, zwei Plattenspieler und eine weitere hochpegelige Programmquelle (Aux). Die Nenn-Ausgangsleistung (DIN) betrug 2 x 25 W an 4 Ohm. Der eingebaute UKW/MW-Tuner hatte eine UKW-Empfindlichkeit von 2,5 µV an 300 Ohm. Ein Kombi-Instrument für Feldstärke und Sender-Mitten-Anzeige und die breite analoge Skala ermöglichten das präzise Einstellen eines gewünschten Senders, wobei die AFC-Schaltung den optimalen Abstimmungspunkt ermittelte. Stereo-Sender wurden durch eine Leuchtdiode angezeigt. Durch die zahlreichen Anschlüsse und den großen Schaltungsaufwand war es möglich, mit dem Receiver SX 6772 auf zwei Tonbandgeräte zugleich aufzunehmen bzw. direkt von einem Band auf ein anderes zu überspielen. Die Aufnahme konnte jederzeit kontrolliert werden, bei Verwendung von Dreikopfmaschinen auch 'hinterband'.

A combination instrument for field strength and transmitter centre display and the wide analogue dial allowed precise tuning of a desired station, with AFC circuitry determining the optimum tuning point. Stereo transmitters were indicated by a light-emitting diode. Due to the numerous connections and the large amount of circuitry, it was possible to record to two tape recorders at the same time with the SX 6772 receiver, or to transfer directly from one tape to another.
