Special Features
separately adjustable sensitivity in three steps per input on the top side switchable via slide switch
- reed relay input signal switching
- Switchable tone control
- Balance control -4dB to +3dB, i.e. the overall volume impression is maintained
- Mono button
- Remote switching from tuner or power amplifier
- Remote control of active speaker pair Box1, Box2 via control line
- Channel-separated +6dBm full scale indication by red LED
- Switching between MM and MC pickup via top side slide switch
- Passive MC preamplifier with transformer
- Adjustment of the input capacitance of the phono input by rotary switch in the bottom
Remarks[edit]
- Parallel distributed by ASC electronic under the designation AS3200
- Compared to the ASC version, the KS V-32 has a mirrored (reversed) left and right +6dBm full scale display. (Since the PCB is installed overhead in the unit, it was probably not taken into account at that time that the position is swapped in the installation position).
Other models of the same series:
- Tuner T-22
- Power amplifier E-42
Possible error symptoms of the aging electronics:
- Audio signal first on one side, then at higher volume on both channels.
Oxidized RCA sockets (main cause) or cold soldered joint due to mechanical force.
--> Oxidized relay contacts output, tone control, MM/MC switching (Attention: Siemenstype is not pin compatible with DIL relays). Clean contacts or replace relay with DIL version via adapter board.
- Reed relay switching faulty e.g. 1 channel simultaneous audio signals from two sources (rare fault)
--> Measure all voltages at the reed relays possibly residual voltage in the range of 7V at another reed relay than the selected source. LEDs of the source display function as a diode decoupling matrix and are subjected to high reverse voltage (design error!). Increase of the reverse current of the LED due to aging can lead to the cause of the error (approx. 5kOhm in reverse direction).
- Broken potentiometers due to mechanical force on their axles (later avoided by changed design)
Cracking noises when operating the potentiometer, e.g. caused by a broken resistor track or faulty crimping of the connection pin (rare fault).
Only experienced electronics engineers should attempt to repair their valuable Kücke electronics. Often more is broken by the intervention (repair attempt) than repaired and ends up in the worst case in the online auction house. Burned traces, misaligned trimmers (you should know what you're doing if you mess with trimmers for no reason without knowing their function) etc. are the result.
If in doubt, contact the competent repair service of Kücke see link on the company profile!
