1. magnetostats as used in the Shogun Pure (Saturn special model) have/need no transformer! DC resistance 5.6 Ohm (measured by myself). Only 'real' ribbons (aluminium foil ribbons, e.g. used in the Certo) need transformers.
+
The RiCOM (ring radiator) version is called Shogun Prestige (special model before the Pure special model for Saturn in general trade) or Shogun Prestige II (special model after the Saturn special model, currently (2008) still in trade).
+
* 2. Die RiCOM (Ringstrahler/Ringradiator)-Version heißt Shogun Prestige (Sondermodell vor dem Pure-Sondermodell für Saturn im allgemeinen Handel) oder Shogun Prestige II (Sondermodell nach dem Saturn-Sondermodell, z.Zt (2008) noch im Handel)

In direct comparison between the original Shogun Gold from 1996/97 and the Shogun Pure from 2006 (both 'ribbon' aka magnetostat) the Pure sounds 'fatter'. I have only heard the Shogun Prestige II briefly without comparison, closer to the Pure than the Gold. I have not heard the Shogun Prestige! This is the same as the Shogun Gold with RiCOM instead of ribbon, just as the Pure and Prestige II form such a pair. The midrange and woofer placement, bass reflex tube and arrangement differs between Gold and Prestige on the one hand and Pure and Prestige II on the other. What change was made to the crossover between the RiCOM and magnetostat versions I don't know. Whoever has, can send me a crossover photo (front + rear) or schematic of a RiCOM version (post link here), I have the ones of the magnetostat versions.
+

IMHO the original (gold) is the more neutral box of the three I heard (scale Vulkan VI).
+

In total there are eight (8) different Shogun model from quadral so far, four of them in the Phonologue Gold cabinet alone ..., so please don't mix them all up.
+

The thing with the reversed tweeter: tinkered with? Assembly error? (possibly also as a serial fault in a whole batch, I'll only believe it when I see it myself).
+
Can be fixed with minimal effort: Remove the HT (four Allen keys at the corners), disconnect the connectors and reconnect them reversed, install, done.

No need for gold-plated high-current connectors or anything like that (where are they supposed to be installed???), and it's reversible per se (all quadral Phonologue have drivers with plug-in connectors).

Sorry, based on the incomprehensible description I think the scribble is questionable. I have already opened a large number of Quadral speakers, and seen several more disassembled in photos.

By the way, the front is flocked and not 'covered with velvet'.

I will revise the article and adapt it to the template, but I can't do it now.

Actually, nothing is right here, reasonably delete and recreate ...
