Restek Optima is a two-way - active speaker using Philips - patents. The bass speaker is driven by the so-called Motional - Feedback - principle. In addition to the voice coil it has another coil that measures the actual movement of the bass membrane and feeds it to the amplifier as a correction signal. In this way a very deep and precise bass reproduction is possible from a small cabinet. However, due to the limitations of amplifier power and maximum diaphragm stroke the speaker is not suitable for high volumes.
