* Kenwood MD technology is based on Sharp ATRAC technology. It is slightly different from the inventor Sony's, the numbers (ATRAC 4.5 etc. are not directly comparable).
 
* The Kenwood DM-3090 had a Sharp sister model: [[Sharp MD-R 2 H]] (also tested together in Stereoplay 4/1998).
 
* Only about half the space was used in the cabinet. The power supply is simple, but shielded with metal.
