GermanMAESTRO was originally founded as MB Quart GmbH in 1963 in Obrigheim am Neckar. At that time, the company manufactured microphone technology and produced exclusively in Germany. After various intermezzos with American investors and subsequent insolvency, the trademark rights for MB Quart are now held by the US company Maxxsonics. They are now using the good reputation of MB Quart, but are only sourcing their products from China. In a management buy-out, MB Quart became GermanMAESTRO in early summer 2008. This is to emphasize the origin of the products (Made in Germany) already in the product name. The professional microphone manufacturing will be continued by MBHO. The restructured product portfolio of loudspeakers, headphones and car hi-fi is still mainly developed and produced at the company headquarters in Obrigheim am Neckar.
